Katsooogooood!!!

A couple of months ago, I went to Puerto Princesa, Palawan for a weekend getaway. It took me 3 months to prepare for trip, putting so much time in finding the right place to stay.

I needed a place with good service, good facilities, and very reasonable prices. I canvassed so many inns, hotels, pension houses, and I even had an Excel file to do comparative analyses. But in all my searches, through different travel websites, I noticed one place that always had so much good feedback from its previous guests.. Nikos Cabanas.

The price was more than reasonable at 1,800 a night which included daily breakfast and airport transfer. But I was really curious about the "excellent service" that all these people were raving about.

My curiosity was satisfied immediately, even before arriving to the hotel. From the airport, the driver was picking up not only us, but also the hotel manager, Mr. Efren De Dios. On the way to the hotel, he asked us what sites we would like to see, and if we are interested in any tours. He informed us that the Island Hopping Tour had already left, but then he graciously offered to have the driver bring us to the port for island hopping, and assist us with getting a boat. This was much cheaper if we had gone on the tour, and we ended up having a boat all to ourselves.

The next day, they arranged us to be included in the Underground River Tour. This is one of the highlights of the trip. Definitely, worth it the money hehe

The rest of our stay in Nikos Cabanas was much the same as the first day. For dinner, they made reservations for us in the restaurants of our choice like Ka Lui's. Their driver, Francis aka Buddy, brought us to the places we wanted to go and picked us up right after, with just one text message. That's what I call customer service!

The place itself is new, barely a year old, so it's very clean. There were only around 10 rooms so it's very cozy and quaint. But, the part that really made the place stand out for me is their service.

They freely catered to any of our needs and wants. There were no hidden charges, and the staff were always polite and accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone. If you're interested, their website is www.nikoscabanas.com.
